Sports nursing, as an emerging specialty, represents a contemporary response to the needs for comprehensive care in the athletic context. Traditionally invisible in formal structures, especially in countries with limited resources, this practice is beginning to establish itself as an essential contribution to health promotion, injury prevention, and continuity of care for athletes.
